The four of us: Laura, Kathy Nancy and Alan, are looking ahead to a great program with you and all the other members of the program. One of our primary goals and wishes is to help you far surpass your expectations and goals for the T&T program and the 50th CPSI for you in any way we can. To help start the T&T Program we have an assignment for you and all the other members of the group. Review the Creative Problem Solving Process (CPS), the stages, components, the techniques that you learned during your Springboard Program. Look through your journal, your notes at the various divergent and convergent techniques that you experienced. Make some notes of how and when you have used some to all of them since Springboard. During the T&T all you and all the members of the group will be given several opportunities to share their favorite tools and techniques through facilitating them to further strengthen your understanding and skills with them. Bring along a list of tools you would like to learn during the program. Put together some thoughts about situations in which you would like to be able to use the tools you know and that you would like to learn many others. Then bring with you some symbols (2 and 3 dimensional) that represent the CPS process and the tools you like mean to use. We are excited and charged up about working with meeting and working with you during the 2004 Tools & Techniques Program. Laura, Kathy, Nancy and Alan 1) Welcome them and make them feel that we are really looking foward to meeting them 2) Give them an assignment that might include something like: - Review the Creative Problem Solving process (CPS), its stages and components, the language associated with it, and so on Ķ - Revisit the list of diverging and converging techniquesthey learned (and review howthey have used some of these techniques since) -Come prepared to sharetheir favorite tools and to facilitate/teach back some of the basic tools the are already familiar with Come to our program with a listofkind of tools that they would like to learn during the program (they might not have 'names' of tools in mind but they might want to make list of 'purpose'/ needs/ goals they need the tools for: i.e., tools for implementing a plan, tools for decision making, tools for ideating, etc.) Rather than tools they don't know, how about situations for which they would like to have tools - or types of tools. I like Alan's idea for bringing a symbol, or some that represents their wish for CPSI (whatev er). Great ! I love the idea of situations instead of tools.. Laura Hi Team, I like the ideas that have been expressed so far for the pre-conference letter. The welcome and look forward is important and the symbol is great. If they don't bring an object or symbol, we can incorporate that into one of the Sunday's activities by having them pick something in the room as a symbol and share with a small group or large group. I like the idea of them expressing the types of tools or situations they want and need. I think giving them assignments is very good and let's not overwhelm them with too many. ikmoq t 9 : > JKfgܻܰܰB* CJOJQJphB*CJOJQJphB*CJOJQJphB*CJOJQJphB*CJOJQJphB*CJ H*OJQJphB*CJ OJQJphG ) q r t : K & F & FG ) q r t : Kfg #fg / =!8"8#$% i0@0NormalCJOJQJmH <A@<Default Paragraph Font z z z [a68Z ` a c AD,39 J g n :::::: Trial User_Macintosh HD:Users:robertalanblack:Documents:Microsoft User Data:AutoRecovery save of Document1 Trial User=Macintosh HD:Users:robertalanblack:Desktop:t&t welcome letterh:R0=pHF`}^`OJPJQJo(- ^`OJQJo(o pp^p`OJQJo( @ @ ^@ `OJQJo( ^`OJQJo(o ^`OJQJo( ^`OJQJo( ^`OJQJo(o PP^P`OJQJo(^`o()^`.pLp^p`L.@ @ ^@ `.^`.L^`L.^`.^`.PLP^P`L.h=pHx6 Z @la P @GTimes New Roman5Symbol3 ArialA Trebuchet MS;Wingdings3Times;Helvetica?
