Sensing Creatively

Creativity Challenge 5

The purpose is to practice your creativeness and add creative tools to your "Creativity Toolkit" (by Jordan Ayan).

This week choose something or an experience and deliberately sense it in 6 to 12 ways you have not before.

Using any or all of your senses experience an object, person, space, experience, action in ways you have not recently or never before.

Change your viewpoint, vantage point, perspective, emphasis, location. Turn it over. Turn yourself upside down. Change the environment somehow (lighting: amount, type, color) and sense anew.

For myself I am right now (frozen time) sensing my desk anew.

  1. experiencing the shadows cast by the various objects on my desk and the shadows falling on my desk their shapes, sizes, lengths, darknesses, directions

  2. the grain of the wood of the door (desk top)

  3. the feel of the various surfaces (texture, temperature) is there a different feel moving my hand in different directions over a surface (smooth one way, rough another)

  4. smelling for smells on my desk

  5. examining the surface of my desktop (door) color changes, stains, chips, dents trying to remember when they happened checking or opening myself up to the memories that come back

  6. noticing the variety of objects, shapes of things on my desk examining their aesthetics or aesthetic appeal to me or is it personal appeal with no regard to design or aesthetics
