Many Times Upon a Time or Two

Creativity Challenge 1999 #12

In the late 50s to the early 60s I was a fan of Dragnet and an avid reader, reading biographies, mysteries from Hardy Boys to Sherlock Holmes, to Russian Novels. Also I got into writing mystery stories using the Dragnet theme set in different times in history.

This week's challenge is meant to encourage you to use your imagination in the past. My suggestion is to use a different time period each day.

a. imagine yourself back in that time, perhaps take an imaginary time travel in your own time machine or red telephone booth (Dr. Who). b. become yourself in that time period c. take with you a daily or current challenge d. while in that time period generate ideas of how you in that time period might solve your challenge.

For example...

Monday
travel to cave folk time or Druid Stonehenge
Tuesday
travel to Ancient Egypt of the Upper and/or Lower Nile
(Pyramids or Temples) Cairo or Luxor.
Wednesday
travel to Ancient Athens or Sparta, Greece
Thursday
travel to the Age of Discovery (Columbus, Vasco de Gama,
and the other explorers of the 15th & 16th centuries)
Friday
travel to the old US west (1800 to 1860s)

Use as many of your senses in your imagination to create as real or as rich an experience as your can.

Share some of your results.

Choose to be creative. It is your present. Make a present out of it for yourself daily.
