What Do I Want to Happen?

Cre8ng™ Challenge 2000-08

One of the common characteristics of highly creative people is "future orientation":  the ability to think into and imagine the future.

This week's challenge is meant to provide practice in future orientation.

First list 5 different aspects of life that are important to you.

technology
education
politics
religion
sports
nature
etc.

Choose one each day and spend 15 to 30 minutes thinking about or imagining how one of the or an aspect of one of them by be like 10, 20, 50, 100 years from now.

How might it be different?

Imagine what it might be like?

How would you like it to be?

Imagine that it is 2010, 2020, 2050 or 2100 and whatever you can imagine has already been developed or created. Then think about how it might of happened by "backing" your creativity.

I.E.:

If you imagine that we will be able to ship things physically over an internet or web type system...

What was the just previous invention that made it possible?

What was the just previous to that invention that made that previous invention possible?

In other words imagine that it has been created and inductively think or imagine backwards how it was created.

Have a creative week.
