Creativity is in the Stars
Creativity Challenge 2001 #51
A flash, an aha, a blinding creative idea hit me this morning as I woke up to a beautiful sunny morning here in Athens, Georgia. Fortunately I wrote it down immediately. Before I could sign onto the internet and the web this morning the initial idea produced another one that has led to this CC. The original idea I will use for 2001-52 to end out the 5th year of my Creativity Challenges.
Take 5 pieces of paper and draw a 5 pointed star in the center of each or draw one and photocopy 4 more. Perhaps you can find a beautiful photo or graphic or drawing of a star to paste on your original.
At the points of the stars write one of the following respectively:
- taste
- touch
- smell
- sound
- sight
Next to, underneath or above each of them make lists or Mind Maps (Buzan) of examples of each of the senses; i.e.: taste: sour, sweet, tart, bitter, bland, .....
Then each day use one of your "Creative Thinking Stars" to generate new or innovative ideas for products or services.
MONDAY - Choose a product in your kitchen
TUESDAY - Choose a service you will need to use that day.
WEDNESDAY - Choose a product you use at work or school.
THURSDAY - Choose a service that elderly people require.
FRIDAY - Choose a product that young children use or want for Christmas.
Each day generate revisions, improvements, advancements, new creations of products or services using each of the five senses in unique combinations that you have not experienced before.
