Choosing Makes Your More CreativeCreativity Challenge 2002 #20I have discovered throughout the later half of my life that choosing to be creative tends to help you be and become more creative. This week I am flying to London to do 4 short workshops on "Choosing to Be Creative On Demand" for a group of engineers and technical people. The sessions will cover character traits, learnable skills, tools and techniques, and ways to increase our creativeness. This week I am challenging each of us to choose to be creative in a different way each day at least 12 ways or 12 times. Monday - Each time you are given a challenge ask yourself What Else Might I Do that would be more creative than what I typically do in this situation? Then generate 6 to 12 different ways and choose the most creative one that will produce positive results. Tuesday - If I were __(name of a very creative person)____ how might I do (whatever the challenge is)? Then generate 6 to 12 different possible answers. Then choose the most creative that will produce positive results. Wednesday - How might I make ______ more creative? Then generate 6 to 12 different ways and do one of the most creative and positive ones. Thursday - Ask yourself what would make me feel more creative than I am right now? Generate 6 to 12 responses and practice one of the positive ones before the end of the day. Friday - Do 6 to 12 creative Random Acts of Kindness today, each as creatively as you can. Have a creative week because you chose to. Cheerio Folks Alan
