VARIOUS VARIETIES OF VARIETIES

Creativity Challenge 2002 #50

One characteristic often discussed by researchers of creativity or creative people is their tendency to have vast varieties of interests.

Challenge yourself to spend timing thinking about varied varieties of interests this week. Start by using your imagination then follow up by going to the library or the WWWeb and doing some reading about these new possible interests of yours.

Each day randomly choose a letter from the alphabet.

Second spend 3 to 5 minutes generating possible interests that begin with that randomly chosen letter.

Third spend 10 to 20 minutes thinking about what the fun, interesting and adventurous aspects there are or may be about that "new" interest of yours.

i.e.:

MONDAY
X x-ray, xylophone, xenophobia, etc Choose xylophone It would be fun to learn to play one, it might improve my physical skills/use of my hands, study famous xylophone players, join a band/orchestra, go to xylophone concerts, collect xylophone music

TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY
are all randomly up to you.

Have a tremendously creative week.

Alan
