Alan's Creativity Challenges 2003-01
RAINBOW BY ANOTHER NAMEJust after Thanksgiving in 2002, Michael Michalko sent out the following message and sparked this first CC for 2003. Creativity?? Imagine the word "rainbow" did not exist (there was no word "rainbow") and you see a rainbow. You are asked to give it a name. What name would you give it? What would you call it????? Michael http://www.creativethinking.net Michael is the author of THINKERTOYS and CRACKING CREATIVITY Both excellent books for people interested in developing their creativity. Let's use our imaginations to "name" things this week. MONDAY Take 3 to 5 minutes to jot down words from nature. Then pick one randomly. Spend time trying to create a new name for it. TUESDAY Take 3 to 5 minutes to jot down words that are used to denote objects in the room where you are. Then pick one randomly. Spend time trying to create a new name for it. WEDNESDAY Take 3 to 5 minutes to jot down words from sports. Then pick one randomly. Spend time trying to create a new name for it. THURSDAY Take 3 to 5 minutes to jot down words from the world of food and eating. Then pick one randomly. Spend time trying to create a new name for it. FRIDAY Take 3 to 5 minutes to jot down words from relationships with other people. Then pick one randomly. Spend time trying to create a new name for that aspect of relationship. Please share a sample of your results. Best wishes for a fantastic 2003. May the realities of this year far surpass in fantastically positive ways your wildest dreams and wishes for the year.
