Alan's Creativity Challenges 2003-39
How Else Might you Say it?This week's challenge is meant to test your wordsmithing skills. Generally the challenge is to take other's words and reword them to be clearer or funnier. MONDAY Flip through a newspaper and find a dozen headlines from the front page and front section of the paper. Examine each one and rewrite them. Strive to be clearer or funnier. TUESDAY Flip through one of your favorite magazines find a dozen headlines from the front page and front section of the magazine. Examine each one and rewrite them. Strive to be clearer or funnier. WEDNESDAY Flip through one of your favorite books find a dozen chapter titles. Examine each one and rewrite them. Strive to be clearer or funnier. THURSDAY Collect the key phrases on a dozen billboards or large ads. Examine each one and rewrite them. Once again strive to be clearer or funnier. FRIDAY Now take a sample of 12 of your rewrites from the other 4 days and rewrite them. Share some of your best. Have a fun week rethinking other people's thoughts.
