Alan’s Rabbit Box Stories

Stories and Storytelling have been an important part of my life
since my childhood when my father would tell me made up stories
while I sat on his lap on our small porch in the Summer in Detroit
after I had taken my bath.

In 1984 Merry suggested that we attend two workshops back to back
in Jonesborough, Tennessee sponsored by NAPPS
National Association for the Perpetuation and Preservation of Storytelling.
It is now known as NSN – National Storytellers Network.

In January of 1985 we attended the SOS Christmas Storytelling Festival
for our first time and we joined SOS that weekend.

In 2013 I was told by told different very creative friends
about a group in Athens that is called

I attended my first one.

Just before intermission the emcee announced that
they were looking for a couple more speakers for their March event
with the theme:

I immediately went up and volunteered.

Since then I have been honored to have told stories at 4 different events
