Surrounding yourself in your office or any group of people in a meeting/workshop room or their organization's creativity/innovation space with posters focused on innovation, creativity, imagination, ingenuity is very helpful. I have been doing this in my own offices for many years and in my various workshop and training rooms around the world and have noticed distinct differences in the quantity and quality of ideas generated during those workshops and idea generating sessions. This habit of mine did backfire once when I had a long contract with the Illinois Department of Rehab Services. I decorated a large expanded banquet room in a Holiday Inn outside Chicago in preparation for a two-day program with over 100 of their staff from around the state. Just as I began my program the error of my ways became blatantly obvious....25% of the attendees were blind or sight challenged. Ooops!
